Cost and Opening hours
Full day: $45
Half day (4 hours and under, morning only): $30
More than one dog: $35 for any additional dog for full day.
10 visit pass full day: $400
10 visit pass half day: $250
Monday to Friday- Drop off from 6.30am- Pick up until 6pm.

About
Day cares are a relatively new concept to Australia. Over the past 5 years they have been booming in all the nation’s capital cities. It enables owners to keep their dogs mentally stimulated during work hours and also provides a fantastic social experience for the dog. Day cares are successfully helping to improve dog behaviour throughout the whole country by reducing destructive behaviours caused by boredom and improving social skills between dogs and people.
So why use Southern Cross K9? Our daycare is run by experienced trainers, so you can be assured that your dog is in the best of care. All the dogs are constantly engaged and stimulated with daily activities, so that your dog comes home happy and content. Individual training is also part of our daily daycare schedule, so you can expect your pooch to come back to you with some newly acquired skills!
Is my dog suitable?
Your dog needs:
- A valid vaccination certificate (C5 Vaccination minimum)
- To be friendly with dogs and people.
- Be on a regular worm and flea treatment program.
- 8 months and under- Can be entire.
- Over 8 months- Must be de-sexed.

Admission behavioural assessment
Every dog will have a trial on their first session to ensure they are suitable.
The behavioural assessment involves trainers forming a running observation sheet throughout your dogs visit. Trainers then communicate the results to owners upon pickup. Trainers will then tailor a plan suited to your dog each time he or she visits so that your dog always feels comfortable in the daycare environment.
It is also a great piece of mind for you and your dog that every dog is individually assessed and handled based on their individual needs.
FAQ’s
Where will my dog go to the toilet?
We are an outdoor and indoor dog daycare. As such dogs are able to toilet as normal outside. We also have purpose built doggie toilets indoors for rainy days!
Will my dog leave the facility during their stay?
No, the dogs remain at the facility during your dog’s stay. Dogs have many activities throughout the day to keep themselves busy so there is no need to leave the facility!
I have a small dog; will it be with large dogs?
Every dog is matched with dogs of similar temperament, size and play style! We understand that dogs have different personalities and so it is best to try and match them as best we can. Your pooch will only be with other dogs he or she feels comfortable with.
Will my dog get treats?
We do utilise healthy treats for several purposes including training and other activities. Should your dog have any dietary requirements please let staff know.
What will my dog do at daycare?
Your dog will be at daycare with other dogs and trainers at all times! Each day we also have a schedule that includes; relaxation time, games and activities and training time. We strategically place different activities at different times of the day so that your dog is nice and stimulated by the end of the day. Are the staff experienced in dog handling?
Yes!! We are a dog training business and as such it is the focus of our daycare. There is always at least one staff member present with a vast amount of training experience. All our staff members are trained and experienced in general animal handling. If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to ask! Our goal is to not only provide you with quality daycare for your dog, but also provide an environment where your dog will come back better behaved through reward based training methods.
